We find that many of our clients are  looking for a custom Water Feature that is basically a piece of artwork that takes care of itself. We specialize in designing water features that capture the essence of the piece of nature you're envisioning. When you add standard features such as an auto-fill for automatic water when needed and lights made from real rock that automatically go on if your feature is running and it is dark our features are meant to be extremely user friendly. In fact our design allows for 10 plus months of operation here in New York and no need to remove the pump. We never build the same thing twice. Your tastes,your yard or business, the viewing points, safety issues, it goes on and on. Our goal when we build isn't that you are happy when we're done, it's that in two, five, or better yet ten years down the road that you look at what we've done and say that you made the right choice in choosing Backyard Tropicals.    

Ponds and Streams

Like all our offerings our ponds and streams are designed specifically for your needs.Yes, we do install Aquascape pond systems however, only if it's right for your application. We have found that what our customer base wants is a pond that is functional, low on maintenance and drop dead gorgeous. They want fish, plants, and clear water but they don't want to spend $5,000 on a Vortex filter nor $5,000 on a single KoI. Our first question is, " What are you looking to achieve in your yard ?"  We'll discuss the pro's and con's of different design features and help you to choose the right set-up for long term happiness and functionality. We'll then incorporate these features in a design that captures the essence of your dream yard. We also provide full pond and water feature maintenance and repair.

Our choices for your pool are extensive. We offer natural rock, resort quality pre-cast waterfeatures and complete custom on site artificial rock work. Once again, it's about your needs, tastes, and budget.We also offer custom rock and panel work both on and off site. We also bring the same passion to our cultured stone work and natural rock walls.

Cultured Stone and Tropical Poolscapes

Have a high visibility spot where a beautiful cultured stone job would simply finish things off ? We bring the same meticulous attention to detail to every stone we set. There is a difference. Another of our specialties are cold hardy tropicals. Bananas, palms, elephant ears and cannas are a few of the tropicals that can prosper here when planted and maintained correctly. We even maintain and overwinter anything that requires special care. Of course,we do offer a full line of design and install services. Our plantings range from the classic look of an arborvitae screen to our tropical poolscapes and everything in- between. Rock walls, a multitude of retaining walls and our artificial rock capabilities are more examples of what makes Backyard Tropicals offerings unique in the marketplace. We don't cut lawns and do this in our spare time. This is our passion and how we earn a living.
